Govern your imaging AI
Independent EU AI Act readiness, post-market surveillance, and adoption for hospitals, imaging networks, and AI vendors.
Medical imaging AI that gets adopted, stays compliant, and pays for itself. Evidence-based and vendor-agnostic.
Founder of Medlogic, a boutique advisory practice in Brussels. Head of R&D at 3R Swiss Imaging Network. Earlier, clinical and operational leadership of one of the world's largest centralized radiology networks, serving 13 million people.

About
I trained as a radiologist and spent two decades where imaging, technology, and health systems meet. As a regional Chief Radiology Officer I ran one of the world's largest centralized radiology networks: 13 million people, 100+ facilities, and a population-scale AI program across 1.3 million studies (2020 to 2022).
Through Medlogic, my Brussels advisory practice, I bring that operating experience to hospitals and networks: vendor-agnostic, regulation-aware, results first. I also lead R&D at the 3R Swiss Imaging Network, where multi-vendor AI reached 91% radiologist adoption and roughly 4x return with zero compliance incidents. Having worked as physician, manager, entrepreneur, IT specialist, and researcher, I connect every side. My research focus includes post-market surveillance and evaluation of imaging AI, the same discipline the EU AI Act now requires. Outside work, a father of three and grandfather who runs a sub-4-hour marathon each year.
Advisory (Medlogic)
I help imaging leaders govern AI: choose it, validate it, keep it compliant, and monitor it in production. A four-phase framework for the full AI lifecycle, built for the EU AI Act era. Vendor-agnostic. Engagements run from a two-week scoping to an ongoing governance retainer.
Diagnose, Orchestrate, Govern, Advance. Governance is the spine, not a phase you reach at the end.
01 DIAGNOSE
AI inventory, latency and workflow audit, EU AI Act compliance gap matrix.
Most AI risk sits after go-live, in drift, silent failure, and undocumented decisions. I put the oversight in place before you scale: an AI governance committee, roles and accountability, human oversight, logging, and a post-market monitoring plan you can actually run.
EU AI Act
The Act's obligations for high-risk AI, which include most AI medical devices, apply from August 2027. Conformity, technical documentation, and post-market monitoring take months to build. I map your tools to the obligations and give you a plan you can execute.
EU AI Act Readiness Audit
A fixed-scope assessment of your imaging AI against the EU AI Act high-risk obligations, with a prioritized remediation and post-market monitoring plan.
Inventory of the AI tools in use and their risk classification.
Gap assessment against the high-risk obligations: risk management, data governance, technical documentation, human oversight, logging, accuracy and robustness.
Post-market monitoring plan aligned to Article 72.
Prioritized remediation roadmap with owners and effort.
A board-ready summary.
Fixed scope, a few weeks, delivered as a written report and a walkthrough.
Why now. The EU AI Act's obligations for high-risk AI, which cover most AI medical devices, apply from August 2027. The gap assessment is inexpensive now and expensive later. Starting early turns compliance from a scramble into a plan.
The evidence layer behind the governance work. I do not just advise on AI, I run my own practice on it. A few of the systems I built and use daily:

"I have known Sergey for over 20 years. He is an outstanding radiologist and an innovative thinker, with a deep understanding of the role of advanced technology, including AI, in the future of medicine and radiology. A superb leader and organizer."
Andrei Holodny, MD · Chief of Neuroradiology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
"In my role as the principal investigator of the EU Horizon project ODELIA, I got to work together with Sergey on the development of AI models for the detection of breast cancer. His ability to see the product from a user's perspective with practical experience as a radiologist was invaluable. He coordinated the collaboration between the clinical partners and Osimis perfectly. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone searching his advice."
Daniel Truhn · Professor of AI in Radiology · Principal Investigator, EU Horizon ODELIA
"I've learned to know Sergey as a person with a bright mind, continuously moving forward. As a member of the Agfa HealthCare Clinical Advisory Board, Sergey always demonstrates profound knowledge of modern medical imaging IT applications, intelligently combining the clinical and business side. He developed a strong network with key opinion leaders and is always on the brink of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in medical imaging."
